I just received the following letter from my webserver in England. I will not pay any money for the use of the space I have had for three years..

he never brought this matter up to me when I purchased this space and I told him over and over I am conputer stupid as I have told everyone on this site.

Hi John,

Im afraid Ill have to bring to your attention the use of your bandwidth on the server. As you may or may not know (im sure we've discussed this before), there is something that I have to pay for on the Yage.net server every month called "bandwidth". This is the amount of data that is either downloaded from it, or uploaded to it via FTP or on the web.

Ordinarily this is within feasible amounts for the websites that I host, but every once in a while, one tends to use up more bandwidth than others ending up in excess fees being charged to me by my ISP. Ive been doing some checking and have discovered that your account, "mjshroomer.yage.net", is using up way more bandwidth than it should be. Usual amounts for monthly bandwidth are in the region of 200mb-500mb, but yours has been consistently over 1GB (1000mb+).

Do you upload and view alot of your images over and over again from your site ? Is it a very busy site, that alot of people view large images on ? We need to try and pin point where the trouble lies, otherwise you will have to pay a monthly fee to cover the cost of excess bandwidth (?100+).

Maybe you are not aware but every photo image I sent here from my website will also be gone from your site. after I close down my site.

And I am also disgusted that my pictures posted here cannot be sent to other sites.

The solution is easy and consists of several steps:

- Learn how to resize pictures, so that the quality stays high and the file size goes down -> http://shroomery.org/faq/faq.php?display=faq&nr=122&catnr=8&prog=1&lang=en

- Reduce the file size of all the pictures that you host on your server.
If you feel this is a too big of a task, I can help you.

- STOP linking to the images at your server at other sites (like here for instance)

i hope you find a solution and don't have to shut down for good. you're site has been invaluable to me since i found it a few years ago as i'm sure it has been for a great many others. what ever you decide to do i extend my best wishes.

Im sure there is somebody here at the shroomery with a decent amount of computer knowledge that would be willing to host your site, and help fix everything. You have a lot of great info and pictures, I would hate to see it all go to waste. If you do decide to take it down, Id like to know, because there is a lot of stuff Id like to save.

I've only been going to your website for about the last 6 months and it has already been a tremendous help. In fact, I often go there right before a hunt to study the images over and over again so I can safely identify shrooms.

I think 3D Shroom has made a very generous offer to host your sites. I hope you guys can work out a deal.

Well it appears that Andy has shut fown my two sites since they no longer open up.

So it has been fun but it is now over and good luck to all. It is time to move on to something fidderent in my life.

He has closed the sites down and he netter hope I do not go to England looking for him becasue right nbow I could beat his head in with a two x four. the puck is an asshole and I will inform all leven hundred of my email addresses inmy book of his service and not to do business with him or to go to his sites.

Anno, its all over. I hjave just deleted my complete computer of all of my files.

I am sick of shrooms and will be selling tothe local bookstore allof my books. My photo images are going inthe garbage. I am sick of this shit. And I better never meet this andy becasue I will go to prison the rest of my life if I ever do.


There is no more mushroom john or shroom world or any of my books of cd,s as of today.
