Rahh! WTF wrong with my Ipod? Wanting to Reformat???

so, i last used my ipod 2 nights ago. i tend to have a habit of coming home drunk and forgeting to turn it off sometimes and all i have to charge it again. so today i plug it in and it shows me the apple logo like usual....waits a while....then brings me to a menu that shows the ipod jack thing and says, "Use Itunes To Restore" in a few languages. WTF is this all about?
Then when i plug it into computer it brings up this basic ipod menu and asks to wait for a while and then just says, need to connect to itunes to Reformat or something.
What the fuck!? Anyone know what happened? if theres a way i can fix this?
I never did anything to my ipod to delete shit. It just ran low on Battery. anyone ever have this problem?

you should try to put the ipod in disk mode. but you have to google how to cause i forgot. you can reset it by switching the hold on and off but if it won't restart or be recognized on the computer thats prob your only option.

try switching the cord your using to connect to your computer if you have more than one.
