Signature size restrictions?

Are there restrictions on the pixel height of signatures?

This seems a bit unreasonable

Okay I restricted the height of signatures to 320px. It won't work in IE but who cares.

Seems to work in ie7.  If the modification is supposed to make anything beyond 320px invisible and inaccessible?
