That is absolutely incorrect.  But it is worth giving them consideration, however the 2012 fantasy is a product of modern american culture - not ancient mayan.

what's incorrect about it?

Oh, nothing except for the fact that the Mayans were not more advanced than us in anyway.  Jesus, are you fucking thick?  Read a history book instead of an astrologers guide to crackpot theories.

Mayans were advanced FOR THEIR TIME. They were able to predict solar events without telescopes, which doesn't make them more advanced than we are today. A lot of ancient cultures were "surprisingly advanced" in one way or another.

Back then, people had more time to look up at the stars and make up stories about them or figure out their movements.

It's called mathematics, statistics, and data analysis. Read a book.

Since you guys think youre so goddamn smart think about this. If they were able to predict solar cycles more accurately then, than we can now, How exactly were they not more advanced than us? I think youre confusing being civilized with being advanced. On the same scale we would be much further along(technology wise) if we were as advanced in our time as they were in theirs. It says a lot about what's wrong with man today.

I dont think you even know the difference between astronomy and astrology.

That is incorrect.  Modern civilizations know more about the earth than they did.  As far as astrology goes, rigorous observations show that there is no connection between the position of the heavens when youre born and your personality.

Now you are talking about astronomy.  The answer to this is, they were not able to predict solar cycles more accurately then.  There is no evidence that that even knew about the sun's magnetic field or sun spots and there cycles.

You really should read some more before making crazy, baseless claims.

They were able to predict them more accurately then than we can now? Bullshit. We can do the same things, if not more. The significance is that they were able to do similar things that we can now, but without computers or telescopes - just math and observation.

Generation upon generation of observations allowed them to learn and thus predict solar cycles - what takes us 30 minutes in the modern age took them centuries to figure out. There are patterns in Islamic art that are complex and boggle the mathematician's mind, but that doesnt make them more advanced than we are today.

Pretty much all civilizations were able to detect and predict celestial movements. Wikipedia "astrological age", "mayan long count calendar" and as well as "hindu chronology" and you will see most of the dates match up.

Well, I read a study that showed no correlation and so that is what I believe.  Im not here to crap on your faith though, be it in jesus or astrology.  The original post (by anon #1) claimed the mayans were more advanced at astrology than we are.  Is that your claim as well?

There are a lot of people on here who laugh at Christianity because they say its a dumb belief....and then insist the world is going to end in 2012...

Christianity is man made. This is waaay beyond us.

No its not, i have personally spoken with angels, god and felt their presence.

I could not stop crying i was so humbled, i could not look at them because i felt so much guilt in my heart, yet i have never felt love like that in my life.

Why do so many members on here accept other beliefs but when it comes to Christianity they get butt hurt about it???

Yes man has used Christianity to control others but that does not make it fake, I firmly believe in the NWO and am a Christian and could careless about what others say about me.

Why would the NWO/Illuminati worship a BIBLICAL satanic idol? Bohemian grove ring a bell?

Satan rules this world and god/jesus is real.

You base your faith on the "results" of one study? That's highly illogical. And as far as me not knowing the difference between astrology and astronomy. Imo there is no difference between the two. Both are the study of the stars. Astronomy just links the planets and stars to our emotions. Which makes sense when you consider lunar energy.

No, astrology links the planets and stars to your emotions, not astronomy.

And the two are worlds about.

One is a science, the other is a religious superstition.
