I say racist shit sometimes but I don't mean it. I used to be a bit racist I gotta admit. I started going to school and there was blacks also and they were really chill with me and I changed my ways.

My elemantry and high school had 3 blacks in total between kiddy school and HS.

From kindergarden to 6th grade 1 black. In my high school from grade 7 - 11 2 blacks in a school of 1800. Both richer areas.

It always amuses me how the out of touch start screaming "racism!"

My comments are not only supportive of the black community, they were also lacking the information that i am white until after krim started on like jesse jackson about me and the ignorant white kids sent to her college by their well off families. She was calling me racist before she knew what color my skin was- thats nice. I wonder what her reaction would have been if the first sentence read "as a black man i am appalled at the youth's indifference.":rolleyes:

ill ignore your criticism and just tell you that i NEVER watch TV. I consume news from a diverse range of written work and sometimes internet feeds. Try this site if you ever want to broaden your sights a bit.

I have a TV in my bedroom but i never bothered to plug it in. I moved in 6 months ago.

To be fair, you can be a racist no matter what your skin color.  Also, people can have latent resentment toward their own race.


I agree with your sentiment though, people are too quick to cry racism.  Its almost a witch hunt (like the old McCarthyism I mentioned above).  Of course the most racist societies are the ones where nobody cries racism, and in that sense I think we are doing good.  It shows that we, as a society, are acutely aware and sensitive to the issue.

I think that young African American man is right on.  The inauguration was incredibly boring and has little meaning.  Ok, we have a black president.  Good.  However, we have real work to do now.

I spent the day reading blogs discussing what in the world of the Bush mistakes can be fixed and how.  Now that's interesting.

yeah, I supported Obama and all, but my job allowed anyone who wanted to skip out of work for an hour or whatever it took to watch the inauguration in the coference room. They even provided breakfast for everyone!

Most of the firm jumped at the chance to watch it (and get out of work). I walked by, grabbed a couple croissant-wiches and some fruit and headed back to my office to get some actual work done.

I watched the speech at lunch.
