What do your friends mean to you?

I ask myself this question a lot. As a loner I sometimes choose to be alone than hang with my friends because I don't relate to so many people.  I want to hear whether loner or social animal, what your friends mean to you?

My friends serve as an avenue to bounce ideas off of for variable return input.  They can be an outlet, an ear to my frustrations (as the Shroomery has been as well), and are certainly a means of support during hard times - emotional or monetary.  They are like family to me.  We entertain, laugh, smile, cry and console each other.  Isolation is probably one of the most torturous experiences for the human mind to endure.  And while I do enjoy my times of solitude (perhaps more than most humans), I crave some level of interaction to keep my mind healthy and active.

I'm a nut when im by myself, interacting with people is a refresher to me, though I get pretty needy when I'm by myself you'd never be able to tell if you knew me.

Ever since I realized how people truly were, I stopped hanging out with them. You have to be connected; I used to be, but I disconnected myself long ago.....

My friends mean to me people that trust me that I can screw over. And I do it all of the time. Yes I am a terrible friend. I use to steal money and drugs all of the time from "close" friends. And I don't feel bad about it.

It's funny how, in this society, being an independent person (a "loner") is looked down upon, whilst being a sheep fuck (popular, connected) is the epitome of life, liberty, and happiness..

Honestly my friends mean the world to me.

I was a loner the first couple years of high school before I found a good group of friends (now a fucking excellent group) to hang with. I was so depressed cause I didn't have any friends or anything, but now I have excellent guys who I can talk to about the most important things like Life, and science, and the psychedelic experience, or we can all watch Chappelle's Show or make each other laugh. We are not so high and mighty that we don't laugh at dead baby jokes together haaha.

My friends are just like, and just as important, if not more important, than my family is to me.
