Psychedelics and the Modern Vacation
    #9589473 -

I am a sort of Fantasy-holic, somewhat of a
futurist, but more of a humorist, however
combining al of these I have come up with a
scenario that at least rings nicely if it
were to spring up. however I hope it doesn't.

Basically what I am getting at, is psychedelics
are one of the few personal things left, in
a way. i mean we all have our privacy and what not
and I can jack off in peace, but Psychedelics
are 1000's of years old and still honestly, genuinely interesting in what they turn you
and the world around you into.

This is just as personal as sex in some ways,
delving into territory where one may or may
not find a rusty trombone acceptable. I have
an outlook of a grim 9-5 future for most of
the world. Electronics causing time to become
a gridlock of monotony. The world stops turning.
You can always spin out. Thank God.

So basically, in this Future constructed as a
Professional Dungeon Master and a Humorist composes
of something as a combination of Brazil and Idiocracy, both excellent forboding movies. Everything becomes stupid and monotous around
those left with a spark of the Ole Tymes, the old
Times being the jubilant free spirit side of
existance. The new grim times a techological
hell hole of robotic anti-humanism.

So I have a romantic picture of something
like The Dead Poets Society-a secret renegade
haven of Trippers, Merry Pranksters, The Greatful Dead, Wonder Showzen, The Muppets, richness and
goodness against the wave of no choices. A lot like
Brave New World, maybe, but I never read that book.
Trippers might change the world! Crazy goodness
is a necessary goodness, methinks.

Psychedelics for me offer a sort of vacation now
albeit for about 6-12 hours. However it offers
a vacation from the grips of normal time progression. A kiss goodbye to conventional senses.
A sensitzation for desensitization. Or is just
supra-sensitzation? or does it do so much, it makes
Disney Land look like Kiddie Pool. What does Disney Land look like on Acid? That's personal.

It would be kind of scary, where drugs are the
modern day saviour of all things lame, where
sobriety is so grinding because all you can associate with sobriety is the Hate/Greed/Efficiency that fuels it. I can sympathize
with Calvin's father in Calvin and Hobbes when
he complains that they should invent things to
do things slower, like cook a hotdog. In this
context in the RatRace of speed are we Mice or Men?
are there Cats?

Although, this is 1 Billion% speculation, I think
it gives an example of their Awesomeness, their
aspects of being interesting and fulfilling, against the wave of fantastical speculation. I mean
if a man can dream, they should also have nightmares
too, because nightmares scare the shit out of you.
This can be handy. Life does not have enough "What the fuck?" moments. All in good fun, fantasy, speculation, and romance. If this article was
inspired by psychedelics, I won't consider it
personal, cuz' It'd be better that way.

I have Woooaahhh oh oh oh! for the longest time names!

You sum it up pretty well as far as I can tell. I do not speak scientifically when I say I believe psychedelics reduce doldrum-related neural atrophy. :stoned:

Greater article apollyphelion. Psychedelics do feel a lot like a holiday for the mind. I always feel fresh and new afterwards just like after a holiday.

I think there are definitely cats in the rat race, or maybe they are steroid enhanced cannibalistic rats? I think its the latter because they are still running the same race as us in the end, where as a cat wouldn't care.

Noun

doldrums (plural only; not used in singular form)

...

2. the state of boredom, malaise, apathy or lack of interest; a state of listlessness ennui, or tedium

I guess I misused it a little.

Have fun at work!

My job IS doldrums.

Some guy I work with wanted to beat me up the other day.

He is from the south and was calling people
Niggers, so I told him

"I think most Niggers are white. And from the south"

It's a bit trippy working in construction sometimes.

:yesnod:

Have a grand day Tchan!
