Pan cyanescens - indoors or outdoors?
    #953344 - 10/11/02 07:31 PM (21 years, 5 months ago)

Hi -

I've had considerable success with cubies using casing indoors and have just recently begun an outdoor project. So far it's going exactly as Moe said it would - I got a modest first flush of 10 or so big-ass shrooms, no sign whatsoever of contams, and incredibly low maintenance given the seemingly ideal shroom climate where I live. I dare say that I could be responsible for the 1st occurrence of Psilocybe cubensis on this particular island in SE Asia - kinda like the Johhny Appleseed of shrooms!

The point of this post, however, is not to brag on my efforts. I'm to the point in my mycological studies where I wanna try some Pans. What I've read on the Hawkseye says they are a bit more difficult & more prone to contamination than cubies. This, combined with the recent success of my outdoor effort and the fact that Pans are native to this part of the world makes me think outdoors is the best place to begin. Is there any reason why outdoors shouldn't work or is there something I need to do drastically different than Moes outdoor tek? Opinions from anybody with experience are much appreciated. I guess I'm just looking for some validation and/or specific tips.

Thanks,

J
