i'm convinced that speeding doesn't really cut your drive time by that much.

too often do i go the limit, and see people fly past me.. and just end up catchin em at a light

I can't verify the figures but I remember reading that speeding rarely bought you more than 3 minutes in the average commute.

Yes, but driving 75 instead of 85 on my trip from Syracuse, NY to Columbus, OH cuts a good half hour to 45 minutes off my trip depending on traffic, and on a 7.5 hour trip you take all the time shaved off you can get.

If you think driving 85 is endangering lives than you need to learn how to drive.
