What's the craziest length you've gone to to stop pain?

Yesterday one of my cavities was making me absolutely miserable.  I wanted someone to just knock me out.  It's probably half a centimeter deep and a black abyss.  I have two like that, actually. I was SO close to trying to call up some junkies I know and see if I can score some H.  I have NEVER done heroin and I don't ever want to, but at that moment, I had nothing else on my mind but stopping the pain.

Anybody ever resorted to shit beyond their normal personal limitations in an effort to ease some pain?

Luckily for me, a very nice friend of mine gave me some hydrocodone and I'm coming up on about 15mg right now.  For some reason I like it better than other opiates.  Oxy is not my thang.  Anyway...

I actually, from time to time, pay for pain.... What better way to know your alive, and truely experience life, than to feel pain.. So many of us, go through life avoiding it at all cost. Isn't a more fufilling existance, enduring both pain and pleasure, sadness and jubilation, triumph and failure??? Live life,and enjoy all it has to offer.

You thought of heroin yet you're probably nodding on 15mg of hydrocodone? ahahhahaahahahahahahah

Well apparently i need one of my wisdom tooth removed soo i'm planning on going to the dentist and hoping i get prescribed some percs.

Clove oil for dental pain.

Tastes like crap but will numb the pain.

Some people have even used roots of the California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) to gnaw on to relieve dental pain.

One time, I had this really painful cavity, and to avoid pain I brushed my teeth and visited a dentist to get rid of the pain. 

true story.

Worst I've ever done to get rid of pain was take a gross amount of pain pills (for me) in a single sitting and nod out really badly in a friend's car for a few hours, because of lower back pain.

I have.  I worked at a retreat in Hawaii for a while and there was an S&M group that came through and did some workshops, and they had a few crazy nights there that culminated with their final night of having 3 or 4 members of the group doing an overnight "suspension" in some trees around property.  We were all warned to not disturb them or be disturbed by them if we happened upon them, because they were keeping their location under wraps.  A couple of friends/coworkers and I found a few of them and watched for a few minutes but it was basically like meditation for them.  Freaky though.

Haha.  I have a tattoo on my wrist.  Pain is fine really, when it's not dental pain.  It's my two wisdom teeth that have cavities.  And I'm not nodding out.  I'm playing videogames and enjoying a nice warm buzzy feeling.  I've never nodded on pain pills.  They just don't affect me that way.

I feel you on the wisdom teeth thing.  Make sure you watch out for them to get impacted or something, they could get infected and that could be life-threatening if it were to get into your bloodstream.. you probably already know this but be careful nonetheless.

I love that buzz you just described, but what happened to me was.. I acquired some painkillers from a relative's expired prescription that I found when cleaning out their cabinets for them.  It had been forgotten about and I asked them if I could have them for my back aches and they said sure.  I ate on them for days, thought I had worked up a tolerance, and really binged on the last 4 or 5 I had.  I think I ate 3 at once, and didn't let them kick in before I ate another..  when they peaked I lost motor control and partial vision, cos I had been smoking a lot of weed with friends, and drank one beer.  It basically happened right after I finished the beer.

Yeah.  I started taking some antibiotics to combat that.  It tastes infected back there.  I have my first day of work tomorrow though so I can't really afford to be talking with a mouth full of bloody gauze.
