Trying to figure out this classic rock song I heard

I was listening to the radio today and they played this classic rock song that I really like but I can't fucking figure out what it is because there are about a million songs with the same damn lyrics that I remember.

The song had what sounded like an upright bass and pianos towards the end. The DJ said something about Ireland after the song ended (?). It had a very catchy chorus.

The lyrics I remember were from the chorus and were something like this:

Can I have just one more dance
Can I have just one more chance

Very generic, I know, but hopefully the description of instruments used and the fact that it's a somewhat popular classic rock song will help in figuring out what it is.

Tell us more about this music so we can narrow it down some.  I got upright bass and piano at end, and the lyrics.  What else can you remember?  I know your dilemma.  I often get it and I have never failed to figure out what I wanted yet.  Thanks to the internet and a pretty good memory.

How were the vocals?  What did the person sound like?  Man? Woman? Where did you hear it?  I mean what kind of radio station?  Try to remember more lyrics too.  I have figured out  where quite a few very cool tunes are from over the years.  This is my biggest challenge so far though.
