Cube Look-a-Likes (need ID) (pics)

Hi I found about 5 of these mushrooms in the field while hunting cubes. The reason I am posting this is their striking resemblence to P. Cubensis so hopefully the newbies will be more aware of look-a-likes, found growing in the same area. This is the first time I have seen it and have no idea what it is. The similarities are, cap color, gill color, veil color, and stem color, and size. The differences I noticed were, hair/scaly cap, slight difference in veil, outside white ring on gills, and lack of bluing (think it bruised brown). They were growing in a wooded area, with leaves, pine, and grass. So if anyone can tell what it is from this pics, it would be of help, thanks.

Those look like a Psathyrella, close to Psathyrella velutina.

Nice photos and description.

looks too beefy for psathyrella, but what is that mottling on the gills, thats not an agaricus trait, is it?

I certainly agree that the overall stature of this mushroom suggests Agaricus. That was the first genus I thought of when I looked at it. But in the second photo, the stem doesn't look right for Agaricus (and, as you pointed out, the gills are mottled). In particular, the area of the stem below the ring zone is extremely scaly/fibrous. The ring itself appears to be a fibrous zone rather than membranous tissue. Based on that (and the extremely dark spores), I looked through Stropharia and Psathyrella. None of them look exactly right, but P. velutina is close.

The main thing I get from seeing all the photos of P. velutina is that it seems to be an extremely variable species in appearance. Here's more:
