That is pretty dumb.

You should have just boiled the water and poured it in the styrofoam cup then let it sit for 3 minutes. That would have been less than 5 minutes even.

I'd just rather not eat styrofoam poisoned noodles than wait an extra 3 1/2 minutes.

Do you notice that the ramen tastes a little bit like styrofoam? Thats why I don't heat up food in styrofoam in the microwave... Food ends up tasting like cooked plastic.

it tasted like normal ramen to me

I only put it in for 1min 30sec, and how much water could styrofoam have in it to heat up enough in a microwave?

get a styrofoam cup and fill it with water.... then nuke it for 30 minutes and report back.

the experiment was already carried out, and putting the water in the container with the noodles and nuking it for 1m30s worked marvelously.

I'm glad I could contribute some very useful information to the greater good!
