Easy to grow Ayahuasca?
    #907103 - 09/25/02 01:38 PM (15 years, 10 months ago)

Has anyone had experience with growing B. caapi, P. viridis, and/or other additives? I'm wondering how easy they are to care for and how fast they may grow. I've got a bit of green in my thumb and have some patience. I just haven't been able to find much in web searches.

Thanks.

My research suggested the easiest to grow Ayahuasca admixture analogues (in the U.S.) were Desmanthus illinoiensis and Peganum harmala.

Thanks for the tip. From what I've read, though, Desmanthus illinoiensis doesn't like to be containerized. I don't really have any ground to plant it in.

Was also wondering how easy it was to get seeds from a live Syrian Rue plant.

Anyone else know how fast caapi vine and p. viridis grow? Soil pH, watering schedules, humidity, temp?

did you take a look on www.erowid.org and www.lycaeum.org ?
i think you need only a small area of _ground_ to get some worthwhile ayahuasca production... i don't think this could be done in pots. unless for looks or for producing a dose or so in a year...
i will try to grow harmala plants but from what i hear, they're very hard to grow...
i am now growing mimosa scabrella. this one sure can't be potted but it's very easy to grow...
i've already tried to germinate p. viridis seeds with no success at all...
good luck!
