Here is a more exact link, I figured I would post it, because it took me forever to find it on the site. I know I should have done a search right away, but maybe I am to high to and I looked through a million other items to. Well anyway here is that link: http://wmonline.wal-mart.com/cgi-bin/vstore/wm/wmonline.exe?U+GN+ITEM:76501336443+SEA:21665518+G:0.0.0.000

i remember reading the problem isnt just the cold temps but that they love grass, i bet with some experimentation you could get it too fruit, i remember reading about a guy on here that tried using an empty fridge to grow them and got one mushroom but he may not of had the right conditions, id say go for it man

I also get the impression that they need a lot of airflow. The problem with airflow is that it isn't cold air. The cool mist would simply be pushing warm air into the cooler. Perhaps a perlite setup, with a fan. The fan could exchange the air as minimaly as possible, say 2-3 times a day. I think this is how premium source claimed to have grown them, before he ripped everybody off. Not a very reliable source, but I had the idea long before him and still like it. I just don't have the money to spare. Other companies make similar products that may be cheaper. Try it, It would be fantastic. I'll look up what stamets says about air exhchange for these species.------------------ -From a registered Mad Scientist "From a certain point of view" -Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi (also a Mad Scientist tm)

Mycofile,Sounds good, I should be comming into some extra money shortly so I may give it a shot myself, If, or when I do I will be sure to keep the Shroomery informed.....Any info pertaing to the grow peramiters of this species would be great Also in response tothe statement about them loving grass.....Well you know that lawn you can buy in a roll in garden stores? Would that not work? The perlite humidity is definatly a better humidify for this species unless you wanted to have 2 coolers one to produce cool air.....well I have many ideas on how to possiably make this work.....But the odds are definatly against any one who trys....but thats what fun about mushroom growing.....the challenge and our reward is oh so obvious.... ------------------ "My mind dont work if my spine dont jerk" -Quote from Eminem- ~PanTrop~

If you want to add grass, I recomend just using rye grass seeds. They are much cheaper, and the growth wouldn't be as thick as on those rolls. Rye grass seed is available year round at most nurseries. You could probably just find a busted bag and pocket a handful. That should be plenty to last you a while. Good luck, I'll post stamet's parameters when I get off my lazy ass.------------------ -From a registered Mad Scientist "From a certain point of view" -Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi (also a Mad Scientist tm)

Interesting for me also.Does this Mushroom needs a light for pins to start? What happens if you put the totaly colonized and cased trays in dark, cold place(basement has right temperature at this time;5-10 C but no light).Sure with perlite and air pump.Whatever I will try and post you with results.Ropy string mycelium making his way thru the casing right now.

I actualy remember that stamet mentioned that specific grass that it is found in conjunction with, along costal places, I was thinking that the salt content of the soil may also have a factor being that they are in a costal area.

Salt content of the soil.....hummmm, well what about misting the grow chamber with sea water and a H202 mix? The only thing Im thinking is the saltwater may be too much, but then again it is a costal species. Anyone else have some feed back about misting with sea water and H202? Oh and I even thought about going and upruting some costal grasses to create as much of a ntural habitat as possible.------------------ "My mind dont work if my spine dont jerk" -Quote from Eminem- ~PanTrop~

How about buying a roll of costal grass sod, and using as the top layer of your casing? you prolly have to cut some of the soil off the sod
