Fertilizers

So, I am looking for some good fertilizers. I am looking on MOD EDIT: no sources please, and thus far it is a toss up between FF big bloom, and some HCO products. I was reading over at grasscity that a dude was sing indonesian bat guano rated at 14-P along with big bloom, and was getting incredible results. I have also heard that using fox farms triple pack as recommended works really well too. Has anyone had experience using Humboldts? 

Another issue is, I have used organics in the past. However, I wasn't seeing the growth that I wanted. So I regrettably switched to synthetics, and only using organics as soil amendments. I think I may try 1/4-1/2 strength synthetics and then start using the organic based nutes at 1/2-2/4 strength in combo with the synthetics. Is this logical? Anyone tried something like this?

Shh separating fractions by doubling the bottom and top makes them different, if you alert the general public there will be riots.

But on a serious note, just use organic fert, and follow guides for whatever plant you're using. Although I wouldn't fertilize now since it's closing in on dormancy, and I don't really fertilize myself I just use miracle grow water mix stuff sometimes.

Yeah,I'm with my buddy Amberica,I just use Miracle Grow Bloom Booster on all my plants,and that shit works like a charm.Why waste tons of money on hi priced Organic,and hydroponic fertilizers,when you can just use the Miracle grow?I've grown huge buds with it,and the shits less than $5 bucks a box,and for those worried about a chemical taste in your herbs,just flush out your plants a few days before harvest with pure water,and you'll have no worries.

So you guys are saying that even the mychorizae isn't worth it to build up soil ecology (not sure if that is the right phrasing, but I am sure that you get the point either way), seeing as how it's organic as well?

And, my question still stands, would it be a reasonable idea, assuming the plants weren't burning, to use organics and synthetics? My understanding from organics is that it also aids in the soil reconditioning, while simultaneously feeding the plants over an extended period of time; essentially slow release ferts. Where as synthetics go to the root system and is absorbed nearly instantly. ?

As for putting sources, do mods just pick on random people? I have seen many people post non-shroomery places, and they haven't been edited... :mad: Psh. Whatev.

as for organics/synthetics...i have always thought of it as a raw plant vs extract type thing.  do you eat peyote, or eat a mescaline extraction....both have mesc, both have different results.  i think organic simply means natural, unaltered (or altered little).....synthetic is just specific things (like NPK) concentrate, from other sources.

personally i like organic because it has "whatever the hell else" not just a few ingredients that are thought to be the important ones...organic has all the goo, not just this mineral and that....

as for absorbing quickly....i think this is more of a size thing.  pellet style ferts are larger chunks, each watering breaks a little away that may make it to the root...liquid ferts are already broken down small and able to pass through the roots into the .....forget the name...the shit past the outer cell area in roots.....arg..  anyway, large chunks dont pass, small ones do/may....so pellet will take longer to enter the plant than liquid..

Yeah. That is definitely helpful... Even though I knew all that, that info just got filed away somewhere in my mind and was forgotten. So, thank you for bringing it forth. What I did when I used pelletized bat guano is just let it "steep" in some water for a day or two. I would shake it whenever the thought crossed my mind. Then, when it was mostly dissolved, I watered with that. But, then I switched to synthetics, and noticed more growth. Hmmmm. Maybe I will just try it out. I will do plants with organics, synthetics, and plants with both.

shit soaked in water is still far larger particles than a liquid fert.  i do the same with shit though, and use it as a liquid feed...but damn does it stink if left in the sun.

Mychorizae is good for the yard and garden. I wouldn't bother though. FoxFarm does make great product, but I have heard of ppl having PH issues during flowering. I like the FF Tiger Bloom full stength and schultz drops (1/2 or 2/4 strngth lol). I add honey to the mix too.

i have always thought along the lines of, huge pots + natural outdoor dirt (loosened with something) and compost = no need for ferts....or at least expensive specific ones.  my old outdoor grows did spectacular without any kind liquid/powder ferts...just poop and compost in mother nature.  i think this is even ok indoors if you have large pots.  anyone tried just using manure/compost in large indoor grows?  i have not grown indoor and dont grow anymore, so have no clue if the game is different...i guess it must be with space constraints.
