zipping up multiple files individualy..

im looking to zip up 500+ files but i dont want to zip them into 1 large file i was wondering if anyone knows how to go about zipping them up individually without having to zip them each manually..

Figure out the command line usage of whatever zip utility you have, I think winrar has a CLI version. Then use a for loop like such:

FOR /F "tokens=*" %I IN ('dir /b C:\Folder\*.avi') DO rar a %I %I.rar

Don't quote me on that rar command line syntax, I don't really use it, being a linux guy :P And that example was just to compress any .avi file located in c:\Folder, just an example obviously. Keep in mind too that not all files compress equally well. So zipping/rar'ing them up might not make much of a difference space wise.

Please tell me they aren't photos, music or movies. You can't compress those any further so you won't save any space by zipping them.

Oh ya, they can be zipped. They can also be trimmed, which reduces the file size yet still makes them playable, but it's a bit of work.
