You're probably gonna need more than A spore...
umm i think its possible but you will have one hell of a hard time, just get some spores from a vendor, you wont be dissappointed  :grin:

You wouldn't get very far with _one_ spore :wink:

Anyway, I don't know how feasible it is to get spores from already dried mushrooms... Lots of things could have killed them, I'd assume. Might be worth a try (just rehydrate them properly), but then again, what do I know?  :smirk:

I hear it *can* be done, but the amout of work.... dont bother, just order from a vendor, if your carefull t's perfectlly safe.

I belive it is genetically impossible to grow from one spore. Spores contain one haploid nucleus. It will grow haploid mycellia on the off chance that everything is perfect, however you need two mating types of haploid mycelia to grow into diakryotic mycelia. Since a mushroom is a fruiting body of dikaryotic mycelia I believe it is impossible for you to grow mushrooms off of 'A' spore. Of course I have been known to be wrong.

I think he was merely asking if he would be able to get viable spores from a dried mushroom.
And yes it is possible.
You nee to however grow out the spore on agar first and then isolate a clean area of growth onto some peroxidated agar.
