Fractals do not explain why they are each logarithmic spirals.  Fractals are just a mathematical model that approximate some phenomenon.

The reason they each look similar, I would guess, is they each have inertia in their constituents and a centripetal force on them as well.  The centripetal force in each of them is strong enough to cause a decaying orbit, which looks like a spiral.
