I'd love to see it in person also. It's mind boggling to me how they figure out the angles. Here is an example from Julian Beever's website.
First the head on view, then again from the side:

I saw a very cool set of these in Vegas once. It's wild as you walk up to it. Other than the main concept of how they elongate it to make it look normal from a distance, the detail and 3d effects are awesome especially considering they use chalk.
