Derek Anderson is a bum.
We go years without a QB and finally trade up to get a high first round
potential franchise type guy. We finally got a QB and they don't let him play.


Man, It can be hard being a Browns fan.

no shit, it can be extremely frustrating to root for the Browns.

Crennel has got to go at the bye week, lousy terrible shitty head coach. I dont know how Belicheck propped up his 450# frame but he sucks as a HC.

The clock management problems are bush league Sega shit and they happen all the time, the fat bastard blew it at the end of both halves.

hey, lets call a slant pattern w/ 8 seconds left in the half and no time outs, instead of lobbing balls to Edwards or Winslow in the corner of the endzone where only they can catch it or it goes out of bounds.

I was in Andersons corner but its becoming more and more obvious that his early success last year was a fluke.

my problem with romeo is he can't beat the steelers.
gotta cut him some slack cause he needs more talent.
his players will jump off a cliff for or run through a wall for him. we need to stick with him until chudinski is ready.
as much as i hate them the steelers do a few things the browns can learn from.
1 is stick with your guy and don't second guess. cower made mistakes his first few years too.
if we fire romeo it's back to sqare one and rebuilding. man, we gotta stop rebuilding all the time. even if we build a team with flaws at we can fine tune after its built. new coach means new coaching staff, new scheme of and def and new players. new coaches also always wanna pick thier own qb.
the other thing we gotta start doing is draft linemen in the 2 to 4 round range every year even if we don't need them.
i hate every team except the browns but the eagles, broncos, steelers draft this way and even when they have a down year thats all it is. the next year is buisness as usual. these teams have line men being groomed into their system so when it's new and big contract time for thier starters they don't have to pay cause they got someone ready to step in.
i'm rambling. yeah it's tough being a browns fan right now.
there is still time this year to right the ship.

derek anderson was an inacurate interception machine at
oregon state.
a lot of good college qbs suck when they get to the pros.
but i realy cant think of any qb that sucked in college and then all of the sudden got good in the pros.
if we didn't invest so much in quin i'd have dereks back.
but we did invest a lot in brady quin and derek anderson has not played well enough to keep brady on the bench.
jmo.

they were not household names but they did not suck. anderson's completion percentage is and was around 50.
that sucks.
he's 6'6" with a cannon. kyle boller has a cannon.
the browns have a first round drafted qb on the bench. anderson has not played well enough to keep the kid on the bench. there's no real reason to think he will.
tom brady was drafted in the 6th i think and no one thought he'd start but thats the exeption. the browns want anderson to be that fairytale, dream come true.
but cinderella doesn't get out much.

Time will tell how Matt Cassel's career plays out. But its not an entirely on-point analogy, he wasnt a bad college QB, he just never actually played QB while at USC (career backup to Palmer and Lienhart.)
