Seriously though, I'm downright giddy about the LHC finally being operational.

Will they finally detect the Higgs-boson mechanism.......or will people finally stop clinging to the standard model?

I think this will turn out to be a creative kick in the pants for the physics world.

If they catch a graviton "leaving"(disappearing) that will prove a certain version of string theory correct,
and will revel that the reason gravity appears so weak is because it penetrates many dimensions simultaneously :shocked:
So ya, "trippy stuff", to say the least.
