Ayahuasca, first time

Hey guys,
Just got my materials in the mail to brew some ayahuasca.  I was planning on using this recipe:

I feel Im ready for this, I wont go into detail about my tripping history, just assume that its not an issue.  What Im wondering is if anyone has tried this recipe before, and what you guys would recommend doing for a first time trip.

sounds like a great tek, and staying with your brew is important, if u leave turn off the stove

i recommend some ginger/honey tea beforehand, to settle your stomach a little
have a long playlist going, music is k3y

enjoy feeling the fabric of reality and being one with the grid!!!

I never tried ayahuasca, but up at the top of my to do list. Other than the fact that i want to do aya, i have nothing useful to add lol :shrug:

same here, i want ayahuasca to be my first real forray into true psychedelics, take a camping trip and brew it then with the campfire, go hiking to find a nice spot with a sitter present of course, then drink the brew

Actually, I was surprised to find that even the diehard ayahuasca purists at ayahuasca forums recommend against brewing it with a campfire.  It's much harder to control the heat, and heat it an important factor in brewing the aya.  Simmering is good, but a more vigorous boil can cause some of the actives (the DMT I assume) to effervesce out of the pot.  It might be worthwhile to consider pre-brewing the aya and bringing it with you; aya stores well for a long time.

Thanks for the info guys.

I plan on following the tek exactly and fasting before hand.  I've read the fasting helps with the purge.  Some tea prior to drinking the brew to settle the stomach sounds like a good idea as well. As for music, I've got a lot ready, mainly groups of the "Shpongle" nature.  If anyone experienced with ayahuasca has any crucial music tips, I'd love to hear them.
