What experience prepares you to be President!?

Being in the Senate?  Obama and Mccain both have.

Or does being in the Senate for 20 years somehow make you a better candidate for President?  How?

What does Johnny Mac bring to the table?

To say he's healthy is absolutely ludicrous.  Has his cancer not come back four or five times now?  I would hate to hear your definition of someone being unhealthy.

My definition of unhealthy seems to coincide quite closely with that used by, oh, DOCTORS.  Whose definition do you use?
He has had some skin cancers removed.  He is cancer free and gets monitored for it constantly.

McCain Cancer-Free and Healthy, Records Show.....

"While it is impossible to predict any person's future health, today I can find no medical reason or problems that would preclude Senator McCain from fulfilling all the duties and obligations of president of the United States," Eckstein said.

Dr. Suzanne M. Connelly, a Mayo Clinic dermatologist, told reporters that McCain's risk for developing a new melanoma is less than 10 percent, though she declined to put a specific number on the risk. Over the years, McCain has had numerous other less-serious skin cancers and growths removed.

Eckstein noted that it's been eight years since McCain's major bout with melanoma on his left temple. As time goes on without a return of disease, the odds of recurrence diminish even more, he said.

And your statement that any Democrat would be insane to make an argument about someone else not having any experience is proof positive that the Palin selection was incredibly stupid.  Something that would theoretically have been a strong issue for the Republicans has now be skewed 180 degrees.  Mccain can no longer claim executive unreadiness on the part of Obama when he has selected someone with infinitely LESS experience at any kind of governance to be the Vice President, who by definition would be President if he were to die.

"executive unreadiness on the part of Obama"  Why not?  He has zero executive experience and very little experience at anything other than job applications.  "someone with infinitely LESS experience at any kind of governance".  Palin has more experience than Barry.  Sorry, dude, it's just an inconvenient fact for you.  Barry none vs Palin some.  And then there is the fact that Palin will probably not be President before 2017.

Thanks John, We'll take all the help you want to give us.  What's next?  Is he going to tell us he's sending Michael Brown down to New Orleans to be is eyes on the ground?

Are you drinking today?  You seem to be a little bit sloppier than usual.

Yes, I'm drunk today.  It's Labor Day and I'm a Teamster, whaddya expect?

But again I say, Mccain has done nothing to ready him to lead that Barack has not done.

What has he done?

Been in the Senate LONGER? Chaired some committees? Did some "Bipartisan Work", for which, might I add, he was roundly criticized by Republicans?

political experience (or experience in any sort of profession or field) is weighted. experience is not just measured by units of time.

Obama:

- graduate of Columbia University
- graduate of Harvard Law School as magna cume laude - one of the most difficult and prestigious and trusted law programs in the world.
- president of Harvard Law Review
- taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago for 12 years
- board of directors of Public Allies, Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Center for Neighborhood Technology, the Lugenia Burns Hope CenterWoods Fund, Joyce Foundation, and (your favorite) the Chicago Annenberg Challenge
- Illinois state Senator for 8 years
- US Senator for 4 years (Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works / Veteran's Affairs / Health, Education, Labor and Pensions / Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, chairman of subcommittee on European Affairs / Senate Foreign Relations Committee / sponsor of 131 bills to date)
- defeated the powerful "Clinton Machine" with a massive grassroots/netroots campaign.

Palin:

- captain of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes basketball team
- Miss Wasilla beauty pagaent winner
- Bachelors degree in Journalism from the University of Idaho
- sports reporter for KTUU-TV "Alaska's #1 News Source"
- PTA
- Wasilla city council and mayor
- chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission
- director of Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service
- 19 months as governor of Alaska

Looks a bit lopsided...

That's not really good evidence, cuz your presuming someone who is presently 25 or whatever the cutoff is for that stat has the same chance of living to 75 years as the person who is presently 72, which is clearly not true.  In other words, thats the odds that the population will reach a certain age, but that is different than the odds a population of people of advanced age will live a certain number of years more.  So a 25 year old has a much less chance of reaching 75 than a 72 year old does.

Look for stats that show the odds a person x number of years old will live to x+n number of years for a more relevant stat- I've seen them all over.

Okay, here we go, 84 years at death is the average life expectancy for a 72 year old male, which I believe is what he is.

We also need to consider the extra strain of being president vs the extra medical care a president receives...

And what is the life expectancy of a healthy 72 year old male in 2008?  Oddly missing from your stupid analysis.  Statistics, like guns, should not be handled by children

The current year has little to do with it.  He didn't live his entire 72 years with a health-care system like we have now.

He was born when lobotomies were a common practice and suffered years of the most horrific treatment a person could have.

I'm pretty sure he's near death's door, which is why Sarah Palin frightens me.  Not because she's a tough candidate, which she isn't, but because she's a dangerously inexperienced person to put into the White House.

(Sound Familiar?  Get Used To It.)
