Besides playboy.

I like newscientist. That's all I really read periodical-wise. How about interesting blogs?

Wired is pretty good.  Apart from that, I get all my info from online periodicals.

National Geographic. Scientific american (sometimes) Astronomy, Sky & Telescope. Scientific american published an actual controlled study on mushrooms. NO KNOWN LONG TERM NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS. Besides the typical, there were no negative side effects. ONLY POSITIVE... Hmmm. Sorry to detract from you thread dude.

"If I had a single wish, I would have every single human on this planet see this natural world the way I see it; the beauty in such simple things such as a fallen tree that is covered in moss and that has new trees growing from it. To some, fallen trees are ugly. But in reality, it is the circle of life at its finest. This is a beautiful world, its time that we recognize that before its all gone."

If it is life that you feel you are missing I can tell you where to find it.  In the law courts, in business, in government.  There is nothing occurring in the streets. Nothing but a dumbshow composed of the helpless and the impotent.    -Cormac MacCarthy

He who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.  - Aeschylus
