A true underground hip hop song bashing mainstream rap
    #8798122 -

This is a classic song from Binary Star. The beginning intro's Bruce Lee talking about "Honest Expression", which is pretty damn legit.

This song shows that there are many hip hop artists out there that are well aware of the mainstream rap trash being pumped through MTV, and despise this nonsense.

I posted this is the thread "cool facts about water" a few minutes ago, but figured this track deserves a listen by a lot more people than just the one's participating in said thread.

"Everything that glitters ain't gold, and every gold record don't glitter that's fa damn sho"

Check it out

yea atheist seems to be the most negative shroomerite I've ever encountered, and he's quite consistent with his negativity. He will be a terrible science teacher

And reggae was created by black people and is primarily produced by black people, so that must mean you hate BOB MARLEY too, who is A GOD :uptosomething:.... which if that is the case, just makes you utterly despicable. :puke:

I think you should change your name to 'racistatheist', you piece of shit.

anyway, paradise, it's too bad you think that track is garbage, I think it's fire!.go to youtube and listen to 'reality check' and 'masters of the universe' by binary star, those tracks are raw as fuck. Let me know what you think of those tracks.

It's okay, but the beat does sound like he made it in apple garage band or w.e.

Dead Prez, Atmosphere, People Under The Stairs, The Roots, Mos Def...

You just have to delve past the first layer of hip hop, then it starts to get better.

Same can probably be said for a lot of other types of music too;)

rap and hip-hop rape the english language to the point that almost a full generation of people are complete utter retards that can't spell and have no knowledge of what many words mean, a lot of them being white and living in the suburbs thinking they are 'gangsta'. it's the equivalent to huffing glue with how many brain cells are lost. sorry if this is offensive, i just had to say it.

with that said, i can listen to some of it, necro happened to be one of my favorite artists, but thats because most of his songs were making fun of other rap/hip-hop songs or had some sort of sense of humor to them.

I completely agree with the suburban gangster image. However. You look at me you'd think I was a nerd, but I love hip hop and poetry.

When it comes down to it I like what the fuck I like and whatever other people think?

Right good point, but the rapists (rappers) are just doing what they do, the victims (listeners/generation of people who are complete utter retards taht can't spell and have no knowledge of what many words mean) are to blame for the musics negative and positive effects...I listen to rap (to many, rap is the music, while hip hop is the lifestyle) but I don't succumb to the pressure of being cool by talking like a retard...there is a big difference between slang and being illiterate

true that, i know many are able to listen to it without becoming illiterate, it just really aggravates me when i come across those people who cannot speak like a civilized person, and to think these people can actually get jobs and hold down some sort of relationship with anyone aggravates me even more, it makes me wonder how they act when they are being interviewed if they drop the 'front' that they portray around their friends, because thats mainly all it is, just a big front to get people to think they are 'cool'.

exactly, it is a front to portray oneself as cool...most people's fronts are more for displaying trust, sincerity, affection or intelligence...the people who have fronts for being cool are way behind in this game

Really? I listen to politically motivated hip-hop yet I don't do it as a front to be cool. I listen to it because it's inspiring. So where do you get off saying that about me?
