Is it bad to date someone you dont love?

I've been going out with this girl for almost nine months now, and while there was a point when i could say i loved her, its worn off.  I like her a lot, and wouldnt mind spending a few more years with her but I know I would never marry her.  I really need a girl in my life right now, it keeps me going... and I don't really know a girl right now who I would want to do anything but have one night stands with.  Does keeping the girl I'm with just to be comfortable make me a dirtbag?

Naw, so long as you dont see your being together as a waste of time it's not. Unfortunatley many females see any relationship that doesnt end in marriage as a waste of time, but if she's cool she wont either.

well shes looking for long term shes made that clear... but whenever she brings it up i dont really lie... ie one time she asked me if i thought "she was the one" and i just said i wasnt sure yet.  I might have a few slips when we are fucking but comon nothing said when she is naked counts.

but give it some time, when i was in the same situation I did and Now I love her, and I think I'm falling for her.  It's been 14 months here.  I guess it just takes a long time to fall in love with a person.

Yeah, I did this same thing back in high school... picked up a girl I didn't love at all just for the hell of it, and basically spent the next four months at the top of my game with social manipulation after making her fall for me.

It worked, and then somewhere down the road I found myself falling in love with her.  Funny how that works, really.
