Fuckin bad haircuts!

I just got my hair cut, I desperately needed one because my hair was starting to look like a big red fro.

I went to this barbershop in the safe, Portuguese part of town. Last time I went there I got a great haircut, and I didn't have to go all the way out to Manhattan to get it cut.

I wanted a good haircut this time because I'm going home to see my parents soon. If I want a nice haircut I'll typically go to a place in Manhattan, but I'm feeling lazy and decided to take my chances locally.

This time some old Brazilian lady cut my hair instead of one of the Portuguese guys. I was weary of her cutting my hair because there was a HUGE language barrier, meaning that she spoke about 20 words in English. I tried my best to describe to her what I wanted using simple words and talking slowly. Didn't work so well. I could tell when she was going to give me a typical guido cut when she started paying so much attention to my neck line and fading/blending the hair on the back of my head. Then she broke out the thinning shears and I knew it was all over.

She thinned my hair so much that it looks like my hair is made out of feathers. You know, how when it gets humid a bunch of single hairs will stick up all over the place. Yeah, thats me right now.

To top it off, she spiked my hair guido style... spikes everywhere possible, I looked like sonic the fuckin hedgehog. AND she fucked up my goatee, it's completely uneven.

I got home and washed out the gel and now I look like I just came back from a tour of Iraq.

Perhaps I should have just been more of a dick and got what I wanted, but I want to be able come back to that place (have a different person cut my hair, obviously). People in that neighborhood are funny about disrespecting their people, so I just kept my mouth shut and sweated bullets hoping it wouldn't look too horrible.

Last time I went to the barber shop I he gave me a fade... I was like wtf?  Im a white guy.

I havent been to the barber shop since, I now cut my own hair.

ive always thought hair made of feathers look would be good...

still, i work at a hair salon, and $15 will not get you any cut

$50 will

so for $15, i would expect terrible har har

sorry, though...im sure it will be fine...looks best after five days, as a rule

I used to go to my mom regular salon (Tony & Guy) to get my haircut, because she paid for it. They always did an excellent job, used only scissors unless they were straightening my neck line or lining up my sideburns. But that was $45 plus tip, that's just ridiculous for a guy's haircut. The place in Manhattan charges $25 and it's always excellent.

Lesson learned, next time I want a good cut, make the trek to Manhattan.

I haven't gotten a hair cut in YEARS. I'm pissed though, cause my hair doesn't grow any more. it's been the same length for like 5 years.. I want it to grow like down past my ass.
Someone said its cause I have ridiculous split ends is why it's not growing.. but :shrug:

I'm about to cut my own hair tomorrow. I'll basically buzz it because Its really hot around here. I'm thinking about also trimming my armpit hair down to see if that will cut down on sweat production.

Only problem is, I'm pretty sure the split ends go to the scalp, at least that's what I suspect.. so cutting them all off would require..... :sad:

to grow your hair out, you need to cut your hair every once in a while to get rid of split ends.

that way it will grow longer.

i'm so happy i don't worry about my hair any more... i've let it dread up a few years ago and that's it :shrug:
unfortunately i've got these few hairs up front that won't dread and it looks like i have tentacles sometimes :smirk:
but that's the price you pay for being free of the need to "look good".
i see people stare at my strange hair, sometimes i AM a little embarrassed but most times i just stare back and remember why it's the way it is :tongue:

So what happens if you don't cut your hair for like, 8 years. Split ends to the scalp or what? Cause I want the shits to grow, but I don't want to have to shave my head to do it :frown:
