Helen Beatrix Potter Birthday



Today is the birthday of Helen Beatrix Potter. She was born on July 28, 1866 and died on December 22, 1943. Potter will always be known as the writer of the Peter Rabbit books. But she was not only an author. Her interests included entomology, geology and paleontology and were only surpassed by her interest in mycology, the study of fungi. For years she collected specimens, identified and dissected them, painted them in minute detail and even developed theories on mold spores and lichens. She painted hundreds of watercolors of all varieties of fungi.

Considering that magic mushrooms weren't introduced into modern Western culture until R. Gordon and Valentina Wasson encountered Maria Sabina in the mid-20th century, I'd say that's rather unlikely.

But people did ingest those in that time
during the french wine drought, many years ago, people were encouraged to eat amanitas. But I don't remember the source:confused:

Considering that alot of her stories are about someone chasing a rabbit, I would say it's very possible.:2cents:
