preferred substate for mazatapec/ puerto ricans?

I am waiting on some spores of Puerto Ricans and Mazatapec to come in. In the meantime I was wondering if anyone has dealt with either of these that could tell me if the PF Tek (BRF/VERM/H20) is the best substrate to use. Or is it at least good enough to get me through until I become more experienced?

Yes BRF/Verm will get you by.

But Rye grain and birdseed are better substrates.

rye/bseed is not for newbie's.
it's more difficul and isn't a must

Mazatapecs generally are user friendly.
With Puerto Ricans I think if you`re willing to experiment a bit, deffinatelly go for the birdseed spawned to poo/straw.Far better than brf/verm.
