I have a good friend that did Americorps. He loved it. Lots of the work is disaster relief. He spent a lot of time in New Orleans after Katrina hit. He also taught kids in inner city DC. He said the people that were in Americorps were great people and you learn to have a great time with them.

Yeah......if you're just trying to make money, thats not really what americorps is about. Its about helping out, and doing something for you're country, and community. If you just want to get paid, you'd be better off just getting a job.
