what do you do with

old substrates, contaminated jars and bags, and other obvious myco related refuse if you live in a city?

do you throw it away in its own special bag, or mixed in with your everyday garbage?

do you just throw it in the same dumpster thats at your place?  If so, paranoid about it?

do risk hitting up a strange dumpster late at nite?

I throw it mine in a dumpster by my place, but i use the one i never use with my everyday trash.  That and i use a different type of bag than i use otherwise.

what do you do?

I wouldn't place these substances and things in the same bag that you have your visa statements. lol. But I would take normal papers and junk that do not have your name, and put that crap in there all mixed up.

i asked cause i hear that they have handicapped people go thru the garbage sorting out plastic and recyclibles...  that kinda makes me paranoid myself, but the idea of going to a dumpster at night....ehh.  If there are cameras, which there probably would be, as all the ones i see anywhere are outside of stores and i dont really want someone wondering wut im tossing.

I was just wondering what others did in the same circumstance

Bury them 6 inches under by a tree...they break down nutrients making them more available to the plants/shrubs/trees

Trichoderma is the common green mold and all plants benefit from. In fact, vegetable gardens such as carrots and potatoes drench their plants with trichoderma in the soil and the outskirts of the plant leaves. I don't know the entire science behind it but i'm bound to find out.

Just put it in the fucking trash dude.  No cop is going to root through your trash, and if he does he wont care about your stinking moldy grains.

yeah, if you cant handle the paranoia of throwing away your failed grows, then you sure as hell wont bhe able to handle the paranoia of having massive quantities of mushrooms in your abode.

Jesus, driving that shit to the country is way more dangerous then just tossing it in the bin dude.  Neither is that dangerous at all though.

Soak em in rubbing alcohol, smash em up and stick em in a bag. Substrate, even colonized substrate is not illegal if you live in USA, unless it has fruitbodies on it, and if its spent its spent. If you live elsewhere check the laws.
