Watercooling my PC. Any of you doing the same?
    #8482129 -

So after a couple weeks of waiting for the parts to ship, I finally have everything I need for my CPU loop.  So I set it up this evening.  Here's what I've got so far.

Swiftech 355+XSPC Restop -> Swiftech MCR220+zalman M3's -> EK Supreme waterblock -> Back to res.

Installation was a pain in the ass.  Only because after I took my freakin' processor out, there was a minor earthquake and it slid off the case and bent a pin.  BAD.  I managed to fix it, but it was a tedious task of fear of snapping it off.  I've got to be a lot more careful in this freakin' city... Reno's been hammered by earthquakes lately.

Here's a photo of the system:

I was going to add dye to it, but I'm getting a Swiftech GPU waterblock the MCW60 or whatever the model number is.  I'm going to add it to this loop and cool the bottom card (the main card) in my crossfire for the moment until I can afford to build my 2nd seperate loop.  The main card gets 15-20C hotter than the top secondary card under loads.

I'm currently getting idle temps around 17C (23-24C cores), and load temps around 30-31C (cores 35-36C) on 4000 Lucras @ 1024K.  It (the cores) increase about 1.5C when I do the 800,000 Lucras at 8K, CPU @ 30-31.

Here are photos Idle/Load temps.

Hope you like the performance of the EK.

Nice temps

I want to try water cooling at some point, but I've always opted for fans due to ease of maintenance. That's interesting about the earthquakes in Reno, I hadn't really heard much about it.

Ya, those are nice temps. Everyone i know who switches to water cooling is happy.

I'm to poor for that, so I must use fans like a caveman.

Watercooling is too much effort take the $300 you'd spend watercooling and upgrade your cpu or graphics.

edit: I got respect for those that do. Also I think I was stoned on IRC when you were talking about the pin you bent. Maverick. Yeah i was making lame top Gun jokes.

That would Kind of make sense but currently I can't upgrade any higher until new CPUs and graphics cards are released. :P Besides, living in Reno, my room becomes a sweatshop when you cool it with air. The processor pushes out heat at 3.1GHz.

I got my GPU waterblock, everything is installed, here are some photos of my worklog:

The stuff they used to stick the heatsink onto my ASUS was like cement, I had to scrape it off w/ my fingernails, Iso, compound cleaner, nothing would dissolve it.  Finally got it nice and shiny.  Used AS5 for the new compound.

Here's the swiftech waterblock.  I'm going to be getting compression fittings for it later when I build the 2nd loop, I accidentally ordered a pair too few. Yay teflon tape.

The card with everything attached.

And here's the system with the waterblock setup on the hottest running vidcard and the waterdye is finally in.
