i hate the hippies who talk about saving the planet while either littering or worse yet, doing some stupid shit like driving a biofuel car that fucks us up more. i recently found out that you can drive a hummer for 5 years before you reach the level of pollution created by toyota building one prius.

i just hate ignorant people, hippy or not.

Can you be a hippie and have a lot of money? How about never having done any drugs? What about not caring about the environment so much, but having that social reform / open-mindedness going on?

This describes me pretty well. I'm astounded at how fast the transition happens. Almost exclusively in the last two years I've become a huge cynic and have lost most of my faith in the human race.

Meh, it never did. "Hippies" never existed. The word has always been a derogatory term to bunch together everything the working middle and lower classes are not.

Having said that, there is at least one smelly irresponsible beardie in my immediate surroundings that would fit the stereotype and needs a good asskicking. Perhaps when grandpa's inheritance runs out he will grow up.

Worst thing is, he isn't even a druggie. He just sits around meditating, playing his flute all day and generally being a new-age waste of space. He's a nice enough kid, but he certainly tries my patience.
