Why can I not setup a wireless connection?

i have verizon dsl. it's got the little antenna and whatever is necessary for wireless. i need to plug the phone cables into each of my computers, which isn't a problem until now.

i setup an older computer downstairs next to the keyboards, and i can't run a phoneline from the dsl modem in my room down to the pianos.

how do i setup a wireless connection? i used to have it with comcast, that was cable internet. wtf?

i go into network setting, right? it says internet reading/working, but nothing is being received - it needs the phoneline direct. how do i change that?

You probably have to go to the modem/router's config page, 192.168.1.1 or one of those special ip's


Or just call verizon, i'm sure they could walk you through it

it's an older computer. the cards are dated. i don't know, i'll get a 50ft phone cable and make life easy.
