PS2 and Suddenlink ISP...Anyone Else Having Problems??

#8366194 - 05/05/08 09:26 PM (18 years, 5 months ago)

Finally got my PS2 slimline hooked up to my Suddenlink Braodband cable box...
After trying the set-up disk, and getting nowhere, I called Sony...they told me to have my ISP check to make sure various ports were open. After taking down a few series of numbers, I was ready to call Suddenlink.
The lady told me Suddenlink doesn't support gaming, and they have no way of checking ports. They don't block any, either.
Back to Sony, to have them walk me thru the steps...we are stopped at the screen where the PS2 is searching for the DHCP...
It isn't recognizing the IP addy that changes...or so Sonyu told me.
Back to Suddenlink, I wanted to know why I'm paying alotta money to a Multi-Million Dollar company that I can't use my PS2. Up the ladder I climb (no use talking to the janitor, I wanted a manager).
The 3rd person up the food-chain told me that they don'y dsupport gaming...maening that they supply a signal to the box (I have a Grate signal), and they are unable to troubl;e-shoot from there..just to many systems out there. So they stop at the signal( connection)
Back to Sony....No further help obtained.

Solution: change my ISP. My buddy has his PS2 hooked up accross town, to a DSL connection (not Suddenlink), and his online gaming works fine.

Anyone encounter this?? Help Appreciated...
Thankx,
Peace
