That's pretty much what I was getting at.

But, GOD is just a word. Words in themselves are limiting. I'm surprised we even have them to match emotions.

Science and religion are the same thing if you ask me. They both search for the truth, and they both want to know what happened, whats happening, and what is going to happen. There is so much more in my head about it, but they both are not separate, just looking at different sides of the same coin. That coin brings me to a one word explanation of what it is we are trying to figure out. God.

Very good point

You guys that are arguing against science obviously haven't really looked into it enough. Critical analysis of what we perceive to be fact is one of the core principles of science.

Oh, and the argument over whether pluto was a planet or not is just a semantics disagreement. It in no way discredits science at all.

I wasn't arguing against science, I was arguing against faith. Weather it be in science or religion. Question everything.

Well if you 'believe' in science, yeah that's dumb. The great thing about science though is that ideally, it shouldn't require any faith at all.

Thats my kind of science. Faith is for the weak. Faith is believing in something of which there is no proof, and thats just fine if you are an idiot.

Every last bit of "science" requires some degree of faith. We dont know anything for absolute certain, its all just theory. If you look at it from the standpoint of probability's, it leaves you with much more room to seek out the unknown than trying to see everything as set in stone facts.

Nothing against people who believe in a higher being and all but i am on scince's side this time. Just cause i mean come on where is that proof that their is a higher being?

Don't so the bible or religious books cause those are just books. Just like the jedi being a religion now, the bible could of just been created by someone and pushed hard enough into the world that it became a religion to be a christian and belive in god.
I have to choose that science has my faith more that anything.

I think science will eventually prove religion.

Science is simple man's observations and tests. The best kind of data is empirical.

What religion?

Except one is support by evidence, the other is supported by a book (at least christianity) written 1800 years ago before w even knew what gravity was.

That's what I said.

SCIENCE shows the earth is not flat. I don't know if you've ever heard of Galileo, but he was put on house arrest by the catholic church for saying the earth revolves around sun, and not the other way around.

I am familiar.

My point is that, science is so young compared to the theoretical earth age (The Earth is accepted by scientists to be around 4.5 billion years old)

That we can go through drastic changes of thought. AKA from the earth being flat, to it being spherical.

From inventing something new and "safe" to it being deadly.

Evolution of consciousness is increasing in speed of development.

Jumps in technological advancement are decreasing in time taken. What we know now is mere childsplay to what we will know in 50-100 years (if we make it that far).

50-100 years is a small fraction of time compared to how long we have been around either perspective you take.

So, technically, I am speaking out against the ideas of science and religion alike.
