Scratched CD's
    #824914 -

I got a couple of CD's I am unable to replace, problem is they got a few small scratches that make the tracks skip in a few places. I have been reading a few articles on the web, of how you can polish the scratches out with a metal polish (Brasso or similar).
Anyone tried this?
I don't want to ruin these CD's they are very pprecious to me.

Thanx

I don't know much a metal polish, but I do know that rubbing compound worx like a charm. Just a dab of that shit and a buffer or something with a nice soft pad on it (or a cotton cloth and a hell of a lot of elbow greese) will fix them babies right up good as new. Obviously you'll have to rinse off the residual film that it leaves behind before you just pop em in the CD player...but yeah, it definately does the job. I've salvaged many a Pink Floyd and Aerowsmith disk this way.

After getting em fixed up though, you might want to consider buying a CD burner (or using a friend's) and making copies of em...that way you can beat the fuck outta the copies and keep the originals in a vault or some shit for safe keepin.
