Hey Guys, I have just looked at the sponsors and I can get 28 grams of salvia divinorum Leaf Or 1 gram of 20x Salvia Divinorum Standardized Extract and they are both the same price.

Which One should I go for:confused:

I would go for 20x extract, but you could make your own extract (and more than a gram maybe) from the oz.

Get the plain leaf and and make several grams of extract with a simple acetone extraction.  Way more bang for your buck and you get to play with chemicals. :smile:

Haha yeah there are tons of extractions listed. Basically:


-Chill acetone in freezer.
-Cover leaf with acetone in a jar or otherwise solvent resistant container
-Let set for 1-2 minutes.
-Pour acetone/leaf mix through a coffee strainer and collect the acetone.
-Evaporate the acetone and you will be left with a black/green tarry substance.

-Mix this tarry substance with a small amount of Naptha (lighter fluid). Mix well and let sit until all sediment has settled at the bottom.

-The Salvinorin A separates into the Naptha leaving the tarry junk to fall to the bottom. Pour the green naptha off and save it.

-Repeat the naptha process several times. And by several I mean up to 10 times. Saving the naptha each time.

-Collect all your saved naptha and evaporate. You will be left with relatively pure Salvinorin A.

Dosage:

Extracting 10g, then sprinkled onto 1g plain leaf - 10x.
Extracting 20g, then sprinkled onto 1g plain leaf - 20x.
Extracting 20g, then sprinkled onto 2g plain leaf - 10x.

etc.

I was reading about doing extractions they seem pretty easy but theres only one thing I couldnt get is the acetone,well I could get it but it was nail polish remover stuff and I got told u need to lab stuff acetone and not the nail polish stuff.I dont wanna smoke the nail polisher remover stuff, imagine what it would do to your inside.

The Contact I have now is awsome with very good prices so I'm lucky I can get good quality stuff so cheap and very reliable too.:)

If anyone could help me with where I can get some pure acetone that would be a great help:smirk:

You can use other solvents...isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) will work if it's high enough purity (must be AT LEAST 95%...99% is best).

Run the extraction step a lot longer if using isopropyl, at least 6-12 hours.

Anyone ever tried grinding them up, and sending them up the pooper?:veggiefruit: Possibly with Red Wine, or even OJ. I've never tried it, but I am curious as to the effects.
