This observation is very close to whats written on the reality of heroin.
If you use it once and never again, you will not get addicted. But if you use it more than once you automatically are in the high-risk subgroup of users.
Read "Confessions of an English Opium Eater" by Thomas DeQuincey. It took the good man NINE YEARS to become addicted, or admit to himself he got addicted. But once addicted, he was fucked for life.
Most heroin users on this website who are not yet addicted, will likely become addicts somewhere in the next decade. Its interesting and telltale to read how they downplay the risks of Heroin, and say how controllable it is. This is the first stage of addiction, the phase where people lose their initial reservations about use and become carefree. Then they will become careless, then reckless, and BOOM! then they have used it too often in too short a time and they're addicted.
What you see over and over with heroin is people losing their initial meticulous caution, the very thing that keeps them safe. Its what people do with heroin, and it is insidious. people don't understand this is the addictive mechanism ramping up to grab them.
