Sowing Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa)

Hey all, i have searched all over but i do not trust most of the crap on the net - considering all the Kratom controversy, and the fact that one supplier suggested the trees would grow over 300m tall.

I got some Kratom seeds the other day and immediately rushed them into some wet potting mix without thinking about how to sow them properly. I sprinkled a layer of potting mix over the seeds (about 10mm max, max.). They are in an environment that i know they will thrive in. But, did i fuck-up when i covered them? They have plenty of light, but after sowing them i did the research i found many people sowed them on the surface.. The seed source is very very trust-worthy so im not worried about viability.

Any experienced Kratom growers who can offer some advice? :laugh:

If these dont germ i will get some more and sterilize the fuck out of the potting mix in a microwave and sow them on the surface. I may use some Coir, would you recommend any of this?

Any other good sprouting tips would be greatly appreciated too! =)

I think I surface sowed mine. I had them in a plastic pot with potting soil covered with saran wrap. I remember I had them in shade for a while and they didn't sprout so I moved the pot to a sunny location and they sprouted quickly. After they sprouted I took them back out of the sun.

If you can get them to germinate Id like to see a pic of some seedlings, I think I may have a seedling that germinated from my old pack of kratom seeds (not sure if it is yet) and im not 100% sure that they were legit kratom seeds.
