China Panaeolus
    #8148889 -

Well these were from some time ago. Trying to save a few images in my gallery here, because every time i upload a new pic the oldest one gets erased. Make a note of that if you save a lot of your images at the gallery.

In a landscaped area in hong kong, most likely with some dung mixed in there

I figured they are some type of Panaeolus papilionaceus, any other ideas

They don't really look like paps to me. I always see a toothy margin on paps I find. Could be unidentified, or maybe related subbalteatus.

You are right about that one snorkler. No tooth like veil remnants along the margin on them.

The images are from maybe '01ish, so my rough identification on them from that time might be skewed with what i was assuming at the time. Never really figured out what they were. Black spore prints. No bluing. No bioassay. Panaeolus guttulatus could be a closer match perhaps, but I am just going by a illustration of that species and no description.

They grew everyday that whole summer in a landscaped area surrounded by 6 expensive residential towers. There were two other Panaeolus species that grew in the lawns there too. I presume that none of them were psychoactive. Panaeolus mushrooms are often a odd bunch to identify.
