getting your pet(s) stoned? Animal abuse - yes or no?

Personally i don't see anything wrong with it. if my cat comes up to me while i'm smoking and i blow some smoke in his face, he then has the option to stay or leave. so unless it forced i think its fine. but what do you think?

i once lived with a guy who had this pit bull that loved to get stoned. if people were in the house smoking, he would get right up in the middle of the circle. if too much time passed where he didnt get a hit blown in his face, he would start growling at the one holding the piece.

My cat accidentally dosed herself with AMT once
twas interesting to watch but we were very worried about at the same time
Many years later and she is doing great

its not abuse if the animal likes it, though im sure u have to get them high once for them to know. personally, my cat would scratch my leg when ide hit the bong, so ide put him on my lap, and he would lean into every hit blew out wether it was as him or not, he knew what the deal was. he would eventually fall asleep on my lap and drool on me.

i spent some time up north with a friend once and his pigs would love to get stoned.

to the 5 PETA members who voted yes....... seriously, lighten up.

there are a handful of animals that get high for pleasure. my cats love getting high, they love catnip, and they love the smell and smoke of pot. i dont force them, they come to it.

I would consider letting animals get high to be pro-animal. Hey, they have the choice too.

The only way this would be immoral would be if you forced it on them, in which case I don't think this is in the scope of the question.

If dogs and cats were meant to smoke weed, they would have apposable thumbs.

I dont think its abuse. Its your pet, you do what you feel is right. But I dont blow my dog hits of weed. I just dont think its very healthy.

My dog (a pomeranian) ate a couple of my roaches on two different occasions.

The first time was a small roach. I was just finishing it when someone knocked on the door. i slid the clips and roach under my chair. Went to get it later and it was gone.

WTF!!

Where did my roach go! My dog had a guilty look on her face and I knew that she ate it. She just fell asleep under the table.

The second time it was over half a joint. I was sitting near the coffee table with a nice joint on an ashtray. I get up to go get a drink, and when I get back my joint is gone!

WTF!!!

Again the guilty look from my dog. Eventually, she was under the table kinda shaking all over for about an hour or better. That worried me.


I don't let her have my roaches anymore.

I had another cat who used to eat the grass if we didn't hide it from her
Little hussy ate the last of my stash a couple of times before I realized where it was going

For fuck sake, if u wanna put that shit in your own body fine, but considering that when I smoke weed I feel like my brain is being FUCKED, and that God is coming out of the heavens and causing me to go fucking insane, you cannot understand what other living creatures are experiencing on a drug, so it is obviously unethical to put another living creature in that situation.

Finally, my girlfriend is working to become a veteranarian and has seen several cases of animals who suffer from brain damage (some of which she has adopted) due to overexposure to weed. Im definitely no PETA member, but animals do not need to be getting high. You should be able to put whatever you want into your own body I believe, but not into the bodies of other beings.

yeah my dog use to do that. ate a whole blunt once right after i rolled it i went to the bathroom, when i came out it was gone and my dog was stoned

if they come to it when i smoke, and then get hyper and happy after smelling the smoke, i think its safe to say they enjoy it.

i dont force them.
