This is good to know.
In case we ever get subpoena'd by the feds, we wouldn't want them to be able to search the drives and find unwanted posts and messages.

Well if there ever were to be a federal investigation, odds are that they have the resources to find all sorts of old data that has long since been deleted and written over. It's always best to acknowledge any potential risk. My directive: Don't conduct or mention activity that is illegal in your jurisdiction, on our website!

We can hope that everyone will adhere to that advice, but in practice, that's not always the case.
Secure PM's is one of the best features this place has to offer.
I wish we had it for forum posts as well.
