I agree this movie was Superb. It made me want to take a little trip after it. This video hardly does it justice though for how good it was.

Trippiest. Movie. Ever.
It's even better in HD on a big home theater.

Hugh Jackman does an amazing job in that role. The scene where he sneaks out of bed to go cry, that kills me. The soundtrack is also one of the most amazing pieces of work I've ever heard and fits the movie like a glove.
Then you add up all the other cool stuff, the original story, the exceptional acting from the rest of the cast, the visuals, etc.. Such an amazing film. It's too bad it didn't get better critical acclaim. I think it's because most people/reviewers don't "get" it. I would not be surprised if a study showed that the negative reviews came from movie critics who haven't done psychedelics.

The scene that always kills me is the bathtub scene. God. She's so ready to accept her fate, and he's so far away from her psychologically...but right there physically.

Yeah, that whole segment there, starting with him finding her on the snow-covered balcony thing. It's setup with mild tension as he can't find her inside.. then you relax a bit.. then he sees she's not wearing any shoes.. I think it really captures the painful minutiae of the slow death of a loved one.
