I would rather turn on CNN and watch some programing that gives me information pertinent to the wellbeing of our society. You're looking at it like you should have to choose between bullshit celebrity news and bullshit drama news, and you then decided which one was better. You shouldn't have to make that kind of a decision watching a news channel. I want real, important, actual news.

i never said i had to choose between the two, i simply said that i would rather hear about britney than natalee holloway.

i watch a very large number of informational and educational programs, that doesnt mean i dont pay attention to stories like these as well. :shrug:

thats why I get my news online
usually less biased than television and I get to select what I want to hear about

My only argument is that our media has intertwined entertainment and news far too much. The Natalee Holloway story should not receive coverage on a news channel because her disappearance is not actually important to a substantial amount of people. It's artificial importance.

I saw the program on dutch television and i got the impression this Natalee wasn't such a nice girl after all. I heard she was all coked up when she went away with the suspected killer.
