GTA 3 (not four)

With all this GTA4 chatter I got a copy of 3 and began to run it.....Jesus, it's down right impossible to use with a Game pad (360 elite XBOX replica for the PC) I spent 30 straight minutes trying to get my controller into some kind of workable/playable mode and it just SUCKS! I cannot get it configured right to play because something always cancels out something else when I hop in a car. And forget about targeting with a weapon!

I had this on PS2 and I don't recall ever even looking at the pre-set controller setup as it just worked right out of the box.

WTF! I liked GTA3 but if I had this when it came out originally I would of never played it.

Anyway.

You should try stiffening up the stearing or something.

Nah man I use the cheat to get good steering, Im talking about the general button arrangement. The car and on foot conflict A LOT and so you have to use buttons that are not in the vicinity of one another. Example, trying to sprint using the buttons that are on top of each other makes sense, it's classic turbo run and jump, but you have to separate them so that your sprint is a L button (that is if it's not already taken) and a gun target with the R button and also move with the analog/dpad.

It's just really not a good controller/mouse arrangement. But how can it work so well with th PS2 which has the same number of buttons....maybe I am missing something, but 30 minutes of testing is just too long. To me.

Totally off topic but Ray Liotta has the voice of your character in GTA3:VC was the greatest fucking thing ever.
