i can't eat that much pineapple. the enzymes fuck with my tongue. i can eat a bit, but when i start eating more than a couple of pieces i get these sore, raw looking spots on my tongue that grow until they disappear. same thing if i eat a lot of strawberries or a whole large tomato.

Equally as good are tangerines.

Tasty stuff... and oranges... yep... got a huge bowl of fresh oranges in my kitchen... and now I really want one.

Agree. Pineapples are a great fruit. The variety grown out here -- the Maui Gold -- is literally the best pineapple ever. They are waaaaay sweeter than any other variety you can find.

one time i was eating a pineapple and when I took a piece away from my mouth that I had just bitten into, I notice it had an orange-red kind of sunburst going out from where my mouth had been. same thing on another bite. Then I realized that damned pineapple had made my lips bleed.

Such a delicious fruit though.

I actually just had a fresh pineapple the other day.  It's been a while since I had a fresh one and I forgot how good they are.

I also made a Hawaiian pizza (ham and pineapple) to see what the big deal is.  It was pretty good, but I think I'll stick to eating pineapple by itself

Pineapple on pizza is one of the many food combinations that oddly go together really well.
