1) Identify the times you usually get stoned (after work, before work, when friends come over, when your GF bitches at you etc.)

2) Choose something else to do at those times.

I personally don't see how some of you guys stay stoned all the time, mary leaves me pretty tired after a while.

It's nice to run around sometimes, ya know?

There's a huge difference between smoking weed daily and being an addict. Marijuana addictions are bullshit because there aren't any physical withdrawal symptoms - just the irritability that comes with dependence on a substance.

Get a nice heroin addiction going then stop cold turkey and you'll see what addiction is like.

Physical withdrawal is not a requisite for addiction.

Yes it is. Check the Merriam-Webster definition of the word. It's only crappy pop-psych that has redifined it to suit everything under the sun.

You seem to have ignored most of that definition.

addiction:

1: the quality or state of being addicted <addiction to reading>
2: compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful

addicted:

1 : to devote or surrender (oneself) to something habitually or obsessively <addicted to gambling>
2 : to cause addiction to a substance in (a person or animal)

Maybe I am, but the literal definition seems to be mine. *Shrugs* It's not worth arguing about I guess, but the term gets tossed around a lot.

I wouldn't classify a daily smoker with a junkie though, and I've been both.

I tried that once, then I realized that blaming marijuana for my problems is weak.

Now I actually have a job, which I like, and I never stopped smoking weed every day. I don't think I'll ever want (or need) to sacrifice my relationship with Mary Jane.

I'm gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life,
You can find me postin on my porch, tokin my pipe
-I'm gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life
See some people gave in
but I ain't given up this fight
I'm gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life
find me old postin on my porch, tokin on my pipe
I'm gonna smoke weed for the
rest of my life
- See I'm in love with Mary Jane
I'm gonna make her my wife...

Really though, marijuana addiction is a real thing. And it isn't even entirely mental. Most pharmaco books these days list physical withdrawal symptoms for pot.
