I have harboured ill impressions of the kid since he joined. My opinion was not a result of his schizophrenic episode.

He is pretentious, and feels the need to impart his own values onto everyone else. He too, is extremely judgemental, making egregious generalizations, and telling people they are wrong or bad for their opinions or actions.
He feels he is more important or more special than anyone else, and is intolerant of others beliefs.

He doesn't think for himself, he accepts and recites whatever irrational doctrine he feels a higher power has dictated to him.

I don't think that many (if any) of the above mentioned traits will disappear as a result of his seeking mental health. And even then, he may think he is somehow superior and not subject to mental illness, so he may very likely resist treatment because he does not believe he is ill.
